On June 6-9, 2023, a prestigious international conference was held in Portland (USA) entitled “Innovations in Process Engineering”, organized by the Water Environment Federation and the International Water Association. The conference was attended by prof. Jacek Mąkinia and Ewa Zaborowska,PhD, DSc. from the Gdańsk University of Technology, investigators in the WP5 package of the SIREN project. The results of the implementation of task 5.1 “Plant-wide model of the studied wastewater treatment plant, including resource recovery processes” were presented at the conference. Presentation “Comparing mechanistic and machine learning models for predicting N2O emissions in full-scale wastewater treatment plants” met with the interest of conference participants and was the subject of lively discussion.
